liz muller & partners' global team thrives on the cutting edge of traceability, due diligence program development, and audits in vast and complicated commodity supply chains with a focus on cotton, minerals, and seafood.
Leveraging Liz’s deep understanding of the cotton industry and due diligence, our team has assisted a variety of cotton-related clients from global merchants and brands to industry associations and non-profit organizations. Our latest contributions to the industry include: co-developing and co-piloting the Responsible Sourcing Network’s YESS: Yarn Ethically & Sustainably Sourced standards, which aim to help spinning and fabric mills identify and address forced labor that may exist on cotton farms in their supply chains; and contributing to due diligence and traceability projects funded by the U.S. Department of Labor in India and Pakistan — STREAMS and Global Trace Protocol Project, respectively. liz muller & partners has supported the Responsible Minerals Initiative in multiple capacities for over 13 years, gaining a deep understanding of various minerals supply chains and processes and, more importantly, how to apply due diligence across the entire industry. In addition, we assist smelters and refiners by providing individually tailored due diligence trainings, conducting enhanced due diligence assessments of high-risk supply chains, and co-creating due diligence programs. liz muller & partners has applied our expertise to research the global fisheries supply chain to determine the root causes of, and challenges to, combating human trafficking, Illegal, unregulated, and under reported fishing, and forced labor throughout the seafood industry. The team also contributed to the initial design of Seafood MAP: Measuring and Accelerating Performance of global seafood supply, a globally inclusive digital platform to compile and accelerate fisheries and aquaculture efforts on the pathway to sustainability. In addition to assisting global initiatives and their member companies, liz muller & partners advises global brands on how risk-based due diligence can be applied across multiple materials, countries, and suppliers. |
